The words below have been provided by a dear friend of mine, Estelle without whom I would never have begun this journey with the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Estelle dedicates these words to a beloved friend of hers.

"Nicky West was very special to me because she was my best friend. A friend like no other and one I miss terribly every day. Nicky loved life and was full of fun and smiles. She had the ability to shine on a cloudy day. We shared so many good times. Nicky was beautiful in every single way. Singing was one of her passions and listening to her was truly inspirational. Nicky touched hundreds of hearts and was a great ambassador for the CF Trust. I admired her spirit and strength and felt so proud of all she did and the legacy she leaves behind.
I am honoured to have known Nicky. I love you Nicklet – you are always in my thoughts.
Nicky’s spirit and determination reminds us every day why we must work so hard to fund the research that will stop these tragic early deaths.
It was Nicky’s dearest wish that gene therapy would become a reality. She knew that it would come too late to save her, but was determined that the future generations of people with Cystic Fibrosis would not suffer as she did.
In life, Nicky worked so hard to help secure the biggest donations and support for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. No one who heard Nicky speak about CF failed to be moved by this talented, eloquent and beautiful young woman.
To honour her memory, Nicky wanted people to make a donation to her appeal, Nicky’s Whisper.

Nicky fought so that others may live and we MUST carry on her good work."

Nicky’s Whisper
Remember me as someone who laughed
Who lived in the present and not in the past
When you think of illness, don’t feel sad
Just remember the good that came from the bad
Remember my voice and songs that I sang
And speeches I gave to help people understand
I lived life to the full and had no regrets
All I ask now is one last request
Follow my dream and spread the word
And through Nicky’s whisper I’ll still be heard
